BIO
Anthony Yousey is currently the head coach of the MACU Women’s Soccer team.
Anthony Yousey came to MACU after serving as the head men’s soccer coach at NCAA Division II and former Sooner Athletic Conference member Oklahoma Baptist from 2013 to 2021, amassing a coaching record of 46-82-4 (.356) in his tenure with the Bison.
Yousey’s best season with OBU came during the 2016 campaign, leading the Bison to a 14-9-2 overall record while winning the Great American Conference regular season title with a 5-1 league mark. During that campaign, Yousey guided the Bison to an NCCAA Central Region Championship, defeating Southwestern Christian (Okla.) in the championship match 4-2 in the postgame shootout after playing to a 1-1 draw in Lakewood, Colo. on Nov. 18, 2016.
At the 2016 NCCAA National Championships in Kissimmee, Fla., Oklahoma Baptist defeated Houghton College (N.Y.) 7-4 on Nov. 29 to advance to the semifinal round before falling in a rematch to the eventual national champion SCU squad by a score of 5-3 on Dec. 2.
Yousey currently serves the Director of Coaching at Sporting Oklahoma, starting in that role in 2022.
Yousey is also in his second season as the assistant coach of the Oklahoma City Football Club in the Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL), where he works alongside former MACU women’s soccer head coach Evan Dresel.
Before starting his collegiate coaching career with the Bison, Yousey had an extensive high school coaching career in the Oklahoma City area. Yousey served as the boys’ soccer head coach at Southmoore High School from 2008-2013 as well as the boys’ and girls’ head coach at Moore High School for three seasons between 2002 and 2005. Yousey also served as the boys’ head coach at Yukon High School from 2000-01 and was the Del City High School girls’ head soccer coach from 1999-2000.
Yousey went into coaching after a two-year collegiate playing career with Southwestern Oklahoma State from 1999-2000, where he earned All-Lone Star Conference First Team and Tournament Team accolades. Yousey holds multiple program record marks, ranking second in career assists (9) and fifth in both career goals (7) and points (23). Yousey spent his freshman and sophomore campaigns with former Sooner Athletic Conference member St. Gregory’s (Okla.).
He is married to his wife Amy and has two sons named Xavier and Isaiah.
